This gospel that promises Christians health and wealth was not known to the entire human race until the end of the second world war in the United States. It started in the southern part of America or the Bible-belt region and then it began to spread rapidly like the bush fire across the rest of the United States in the 1950s and 1960s before it was finally exported to the rest of the human universe by its American preachers and pioneers.
The type of gospel that is known as the prosperity gospel or the gospel of health and wealth or the gospel of the word of faith teaches that the true practical answer to the problem of abject and chronic poverty in the life of any Christian is for that particular Christian to become a faithful tithers of all his or her incomes and a regular giver of bountiful or sacrificial offerings. This gospel also teaches that the divine solution to sicknesses and diseases in the life of a Christian comes when that Christian lives a life of daily or regular positive confessions, which simply means "your health or healing is in the power of the words that you speak to your sick bodies out of your months or you can create exactly the type of world or health that you desire in this life.".
This gospel teaches further that Christians do not operate in the current global economic and financial systems of this world and that they are spiritually immune to any global economic crises or recessions in the financial systems of the world as well as entitled to the massive end-time wealth transfers including the wealth of the sinners (people who are not Christians) that is already laid up for the Christians to inherit and to enjoy.
This gospel teaches and justifies why Christians must be super-rich and it is based on the fact that Jesus Christ was also very super-rich or super-wealthy by the standards that they were used in Palestine when he walked on this planet earth about 2,000 years ago. The teachings of this gospel also violate the traditional and the conventional ways, such as employment, owing a business, investing or saving your money and the today's E-Commerce which are or were the ways mankind had made money or continues to make money in this world for the last thousands of years.
This strange gospel teaches that Christians who are faithful tithers and offering givers have unlimited or unresisted access to the divine secrets of wealth creation that are hidden from the rest of humanity. This prosperity gospel also teaches that it is a sin or sinful to be financially and materially poor as a Christian, poverty does not glorify Jesus Christ and the true signs of spiritual growth and the true signs of a life of sound relationship with God by a Christian is for that Christian to be rich in this life.
Each of you should give what you have decided in your heart to give, not reluctantly or under compulsion, for God loves a cheerful giver - 2 Corinthians 9:7 (NIV Translation).
He that oppresses the poor to increase his riches, and he that gives to the rich, shall surely come to want - Proverbs 22:16.
For such are false apostles, deceitful workers, transforming themselves into the apostles of Christ - 2 Corinthians 11:13.
