"THE MAKING OF THE SUPER-RICH PASTORS OF NIGERIA"

Nigeria did not have any known billionaires and multi-millionaire pastors who owned private jets, universities, printing presses, drove those state of the arts automobiles and lived in mansions until the sudden emergence of the first Nigerian millionaire prosperity preacher by the name of the late Arch-Bishop Benson Idahosa of the Church of God Mission International in Benin City in the early 1980s. Today in 2014, Nigeria can now boast of a number of super-rich pastors, such as David Oyedepo, Enoch Adeboye, Mike Okonkwo, Ayo Oritsejafor, George Adeboye, Chris Okotie, Chris Oyakhilome, Matthew Ashinmolowo and many others.

How did these pastors become millionaire preachers today? Did these preachers come from those wealthy homes? Were these pastors already wealthy or super-rich before they started to preach? What message did they preach that made them to be very rich today in Nigeria? These preachers are all the direct products and the sole beneficiaries from the so called gospel prosperity that originated in the United States in the 1940s and was pioneered in Nigeria by the late Arch-Bishop Benson Idahosa who later became a sole mentor and the spiritual father to many of these wealthy preachers that I listed above today in Nigeria.

These rich pastors made their money primarily from the mandatory tithes, offerings and financial donations of their disciples that they have collected on weekly basis for many decades now. These pastors then decided to convert the money for their own sole or personal use. These pastors then suddenly became the overnight millionaires businessmen and entrepreneurs. These pastors then used some of the money that they have collected from the tithes and the offerings of their followers to set up their own personal businesses that benefit them alone such as, schools, bookshops, universities, real estates, printing presses and recording studios to make more money for themselves at the expense of their ignorant, gullible and vulnerable givers who still live in abject poverty today in the name of the health and wealth gospel.
