The establishment of the Al Jazeera satellite television station about 16 years ago and its uncensored daily coverage of the major political, economic, religious, cultural and social developments in the Middle East in particular and the rest of the world in general has continued to educate and to empower the tens of millions of the ordinary Arabs with the political education and the global exposure that they lacked for decades under their brutal dictators and maximum rulers.
The Al Jazeera Media Network announced on its official website today that "it will launch a new U.S.-based news channel that will provide both domestic news and international news for American audiences. Al Jazeera Media Network also said that it has acquired Current TV in the United States and that the new U.S.-based news channel will be available on Current’s distribution network when it is launched in 2013. There will be a transition from existing programming until the new Al Jazeera channel begins to air."
With this major development in the news world today in America, the Al Jazeera Media Network has truly come out of age to now become one of the leaders in the field of global news gathering, global news coverage and global news dissemination in this 21st century human universe. The coming of Al Jazeera into the powerful America's news sector is also a welcome development for healthy competition, balanced news coverage and reporting as well as diverse perspectives on the many global issues of our world of today. Finally, Al Jazeera will now give the huge traditional news media in America, such as the ABC, CBS, NBC, MSNBS, Foxnews and the others a run for their news disseminations that are either from a liberal viewpoint or from a conservative position.
