America's politicians, public elected officials at all levels and the members of the general public are heavily divided today on almost all the most important domestic and the international issues of our 21st century world that affect every American citizen either directly or indirectly. The Washington politics and the court of public opinion are like any two parallel lines that will never meet at any point. This reality on the ground in America today makes it almost practically impossible to solve these enormous challenges that the American nation is facing today in our lifetime. These national divisions in America have reached a point today where Americans are also very divided about the exact interpretation of the major clauses of the United States constitution that is the supreme law of this nation.
These national divisions in the nation's leadership and in her public opinion have prevented America from solving the following major challenges that this nation is facing in this 21st century human universe. The most important challenges today are below:(i) The rising unabated yearly deficit and the huge $16 trillion foreign debt that is almost unmanageable and may soon overtake the nation's entire annual GDP. (ii) The present 7.8% national unemployment rate or about 13 million Americans without work or any realistic hope of getting employed in the nearest future and the millions of homes that are still facing foreclosures. (iii) The uncertainty of the future of the Social Security. (iv) The Medicare drug program for seniors, the Medicaid and the various safety net programs that are currently adding more to the nation's yearly deficit.
(iv) The broken down national immigration law that allows an estimated 12-20 million undocumented people to be living in America illegally today. (v) The unfair national tax codes that favor the rich and the biggest corporations over the middle class Americans. (vi) The political campaign finance law that allow America's billionaires and corporations to spend unlimited money in our democracy without publicly disclosing their names and sources. (vii) The divisive gun control and ownership law that contribute to the culture of public mass shootings and killings. (viii) The need for a national alternative energy policy instead of depending on the foreign imported oil. (ix) The huge yearly defense spending that is adding to our yearly deficit in the era of global peace without any major threats against America as the only superpower country today. (x) The exact interpretation on the 14th Amendment of the United States constitution and the doctrine of personhood. (xi) The failing public education that is producing about 1 million high school dropouts every year. (xii) The criminalization of non-violent crimes that have kept 2-3 million Americans in the prison system at the expense of the tax payers' money. (xiii) Gay rights and marriage equality.
These huge and enormous challenges that America is facing today will continue to remain a big thorn in the flesh of this nation until the required political will, compromise or cooperation are applied by the Washington power brokers by putting the best international and domestic interests of this nation and her citizens above the divisive and the unproductive politics of political ideologies or special interests that will never address or solve these today's challenges in America that must be solved in our lifetime.
