"THE AMERICAN LIBERAL NEWS MEDIA HAS JUST LOST A POWERFUL VOICE"

The sudden departure of Keith Olbermann, one of our nation's most liberal anchors from the MSNBC's most popular program "Countdown with Keith Olbermann" that drew me and over one million viewers all over America every night for one hour surprised me and other viewers. Keith Olbermann announced last Friday night at the close of his program that the show would be his last.

At the time of his departure from the cable television, MSNBC announced that the program would continue with a replacement. The main questions left unanswered are: Why the sudden departure? Was there any unresolved issues between MSNBC and Keith Olbermann? Is his sudden departure due to the intending business plan to takeover the MSNBC's parent company, NBC Universal, by Comcast, the cable and Internet giant? Is it as a result of the approval for the final takeover this week by federal regulators?

No matter what led to his sudden departure at this point it does not matter to me. His departure is a big blow to the liberal voices and opinions on our nation and on our national television. Keith Olbermann is an epitome of the liberal political ideologies on our national life as a country that is politically volatile and heavily divided, along conservative, independent and liberal lines. He stands for liberalism, he represents liberalism, he defends liberalism, he left us suddenly fighting for liberalism and he will continue to be our powerful liberal voice in his next line of professional work.

Millions of Americans who are liberals like my humble self will continue to miss the unique impacts that Keith Olbermann has made on this great union and on our national politics. His several signature segments on his television program "Countdown with Keith Olbermann", such as the "Special Comment" and a daily "Worst Person in the World." will be greatly missed by millions of his faithful viewers.

Keith Olbermann is not the liberal political ideology as a way of life, this ideology existed before Keith Olbermann and is bigger than Keith Olbermann as a person, but his voice on television daily was a defence and a safe haven for this political school of thought that I and tens of millions of other Americans have come to embrace as one of the best answers to our nation's challenging issues in this 21st century to continue to thrive unabated.
