There is no racism or racists in Nigeria, because Nigeria has predominantly only one type of human race which is the black race and with over 250 different tribal or ethnic groupings, each tribal group in Nigeria has its own unique history, traditions, social values, cultural practices, language and traditional religious beliefs in most cases.
Nigeria is truly a melting pot of over 250 ethnic nationalities that have dwelled together for almost 100 years now since the British-led amalgamation of the Northern and the Southern protectorates together to form Nigeria took place on January 1, 1914. Tribalism has troubled every area of the Nigerian nation and life to date. Tribalism remains one of the biggest national issues in Nigeria today. Tribalism is the biggest element in the Nigerian national makeup. Tribal considerations cannot be separated from the national life or the national affairs of Nigeria. The power of tribalism has been a national blessing to the major ethnic groups in Nigeria and it has also continued to be the political instrument of marginalization that is used against the other minority tribal nationalities.
A tribalist or the person who practices tribalism in real life may act directly or indirectly, in a subtle way or in an unsubtle way. The truth about tribalism is that it is not tribally or ethnically blind to other tribes. A tribalist targets any member of another tribe that is different from the tribe of the tribalist, no matter what you share in common in this life with the tribalist or what you do not share in common in this life with the same tribalist. A tribalist will see you differently or treat you differently no matter your financial status in this life, no matter your exemplary character or lifestyle, no matter your educational accomplishments, no matter your religious faith, no matter your political ideology, no matter your physical appearance and professional responsibilities in this life.
Tribalism can also go beyond a tribalist and may be extended into the major human institutions in a typical society. This type of tribalism is called the institutionalized tribalism which promotes tribalism on the national level or scale. The government agencies, the political organs, religious organizations and the private enterprises can all serve an an extension of tribalism in a country. The criminal justice system, the security services, the media, the educational institutions, the entertainment industry and sporting organizations may have policies and agendas in place that promote the institutionalized tribalism in the society on a larger scale.
