"THE MARCH ON WASHINGTON:50 YEARS LATER"

Hundreds of thousands of Americans from all the walks of life converged today at the Lincoln Memorial in the National Mall of Washington, DC to commemorate the 50th anniversary of the March on Washington that was led by the late American civil rights leader, the Rev. Martin Luther King Jr in the same venue in 1963. The speech that this late civil rights icon delivered on that historical day was titled "I Have a Dream" which has changed America for better today in 2013 as a nation of immigrants, laws and economic opportunities.

Today's event at the National Mall was the direct continuation and the expansion of the original dream of this great historical figure that is not yet fully fulfilled today in America. This dream has now expanded in scope to reflect and to address the new America of today in this 21st century. This dream that was primarily designed to address the two issues of freedom and jobs in America in 1963 has now expanded today to include almost all the burning issues of our days in the realms of politics, economic, social, religion and international matters.

The political rally of today was a converging point for all the various agitations in America for political freedom, economic opportunities and social justice. This dream now includes all Americans from all the races, nationalities, ethnic groups, socioeconomic backgrounds, cultural settings and religious faiths. Rev. Martin Luther King Jr died prematurely in 1968, but his dream that he left behind has now expanded to become our national way of life in America in this 21st century human universe.
