"WASHINGTON MEETING:BUHARI ACCEPTED THE INVITATION AND GOODLUCK TURNED DOWN THE INVITATION"

The Center for Strategic and International Studies (CSIS) Africa Program initially invited the two presidential candidates of the two main political parties in Nigeria for their round-table talk with Washington, DC powerful political establishment. President Jonathan Goodluck of Nigeria, the presidential candidate of the ruling PDP and General Muhammadu Buhari, the presidential candidate of the opposition APC received the invitation to attend the sixth session of the CSIS on the Nigeria Election Forum:Countdown to Nigeria's 2015 Elections. The CSIS said that "General  Buhari has accepted an invitation extended to the presidential candidates of Nigeria's two main parties for a discussion with a Washington audience about the significance of Nigeria's elections and the importance of a free, fair, and peaceful process." The CSIS over the course of the last year has provided a neutral venue to profile a range of views from civil society, political leadership, and government officials. General Buhari will hold his round-table talk on Monday, January 26, 2015 from 2:30 p.m. to 4:00 p.m..
