The former Nigeria's President Olusegun Obasanjo is the biggest political clown and joker that I know today in Africa. This man said in his hypocritical and highly deceptive tribute to the living memories and legacies of the late Nelson Mandela of Africa that he did not succeed in persuading Nelson Mandela to run for a second term as the President of South Africa. Has Olusegun Obasanjo forgotten that Nelson Mandela was never power-hungry, power-thirsty and power-drunk like him? Nelson Mandela saw power as an avenue to serve his nation selflessly and to do good to all. Olusegun Obasanjo sees power as an avenue to illegally enrich himself, his cronies, to stay in power for life if it is practically possible and to destroy his perceived political opponents or rivals. Olusegun Obasajo is a man that does not believe one second in the true democratic principles and the rule of law. Olusegun Obasanjo was the man who intentionally institutionalized the reign of electoral frauds, political exclusion and political persecution of his perceived political opponents in other to stay in power by all means necessary. Olusegun Obasanjo was the man who started the dirty politics of "Do or Die in Nigeria".
Olusegun Obasanjo was the man who violated the various court orders. Olusegun Obasanjo was a man who corrupted the National Assembly of Nigeria with his "Ghana must go bags". Olusegun Obasanjo was the guy who used the EFCC for the selective official corruption trials of his political rivals. Olusegun Obasanjo was the man that attempted to change the Nigeria's constitution of 1999 for his own personal political ambition that will enable him to have a shot for the 3rd term at the presidency of Nigeria. Olusegun Obasanjo was the man that put the entire oil industry in Nigeria under his own direct control from 1999 to 2006 in direct violation of the constitution of Nigeria and outside his constitutional responsibilities as the President of Nigeria. Olusegun Obasanjo was the President that spent $16 billion to provide zero kilowatt of electrical power to the 160 million Nigerians.
Olusegun Obasanjo was the man who entered the Aso Rock villa penniless or financially broke in 1999 and then left in 2007 owing a mansion in his hometown, a presidential library, a private high school, millions of lucrative shares in the major corporations in Nigeria. Africa is truly in a big trouble with this type of shady and selfish individual serving as our role model of what an elder statesman should be in all reality. Olusegun Obasanjo is never, will never and can never be in the same class as the former South African President, the late Nelson Mandela of Africa in all truth, reality and honesty.
