Pope Francis in his defense against the attacks of the American rightwing media and politicians that he was indirectly promoting Marxism in the world. Pope Francis said "The ideology of Marxism is wrong. But I have met many Marxists in my life who are good people, so I don't feel offended, There was the promise that once the glass had become full it would overflow and the poor would benefit. But what happens is that when it's full to the brim, the glass magically grows, and thus nothing ever comes out for the poor ... I repeat: I did not talk as a specialist but according to the social doctrine of the church. And this does not mean being a Marxist.".
Pope Francis is not a Marxist in all reality, but an opposer of the trickle-down economics that benefits only the corporations, shareholders and their top executives in all reality. Pope Francis is against corporations that pay the yearly incomes to their lowest paid workers which are equivalent to what their own CEOs earn in only one hour on their jobs. Pope Francis is against unregulated capitalism and unfair taxation. Pope Francis is against capitalism that is built on greed without any human face or human conscience attached to it. Pope Francis is against the highly profitable corporations that give poor working and retirement benefits to their own workers. Pope Francis is against the free market system that continues to widen the gap between the rich and the poor. Pope Francis is an avid supporter of fairness in the wealth distribution and for the social safety net programs that help the poor in our society.
